DJ Profile

DJ Bio:
I began my DJ career way back in 1987 when I started doing mobile discos and DJing in a nightclub, and throughout the 1990s with my mobile disco called 'The Ultimate Roadshow' which many will remember! This was in an era which had many independent music shops stacked with many shelves full of the latest tunes on vinyl. Having seen the way music has progressed since then, there has always been an ethos in respect to the vinyl culture.
With the digital age upon us, I also carried my performances over to world class Denon Prime media players. Whilst vinyl will always have outstanding quality, sometimes the latest music will be available first as a digital format. However since the recent resurgence of vinyl, and more artists choosing to release onto vinyl first (gaining mechanical copyright whilst giving the artists the upper hand over streaming sites) digital has once again started to take second place, and rightly so.
As a mobile DJ aswell as performance DJ I have gained plenty of experience to perform to all different types of audience and being able to host the music on the microphone.
Performance Vinyl DJ
For music festivals, club nights etc. My favourite style has always been one to bring a smile to peoples faces, with a more happy bouncy hardhouse flavour. There are more genres which can range from uplifting trance, electro, breaks and classic funky house. This ensures that wherever possible you know that I will always turn up to perform a DJ set with a bag full of 12" vinyl records. To see a DJ perform with vinyl, and to see a tune spinning and relating it to what you hear has a great impact on how an audience relates to the music. You will always notice an element of musicianship in amongst my DJ sets.

Radio:
Since the early 1990s i have been involved in various aspects of radio broadcasting, both on FM and online. I present a live syndicated radio show every Friday night between 10PM and Midnight called 'The Vinyl Revival' which involves playing different styles of dance music from the 90s and 00s each week. Main styles are 90s Dance, Trance, Rave, Hard House, Hardcore. Each week has its own theme.
There is often good interaction from listeners who like to get shout-outs. The show can be heard live across the UK on various FM radio stations, online and directly on www.vinylrevival.radio. If you run a radio station and would like to add the show (free of charge) to your broadcast schedule then feel free to get in touch, and I can give you the details along with a link to a demo mix and direct audio link for live broadcast.
Competition Judge:
I have been on various judging panels for DJ competitions around the UK. With full access to industry standard judging papers and ethical codes of practise, you can rest assured that any competition will be judged fairly and effectively without favour or discrimination.
